Introduction:
SilibaseWR-1290 Water Repellent Polymer is a solventless silicone concentrate based on a mixture of silane and siloxane. It is dilatable with organic solvents.
Dilute solutions of SilibaseWR-1290 Water Repellent Polymer in organic solvents may be used as high-quality general-purpose water repellents for impregnating and priming mineral and highly alkaline substrates.

Application:
SilibaseWR-1290 Water Repellent Polymer is widely used as water repellents for marble, granite, sandstone, splitting tile, aerated concrete, ferroconcrete, bridge concrete, tunnel concrete, cement fiberboards, mineral plasters, mineral-based natural and artificial stone.
When applied to the mineral substrate, SilibaseWR-1290 Water Repellent Polymer reacts with the atmospheric moisture or pore water in the substrate and generate active ingredient while liberating alcohol. The active ingredient lowers the water absorbency of the substrate.
SilibaseWR-1290 Water Repellent Polymer is also used as primer for exterior paints. SilibaseWR-1290 Water Repellent Polymer is not suitable for rendering gypsum water repellent.

Aliphatic hydrocarbons (e.g. White Spirit 130/175), Aromatic hydrocarbons (solvent naphtha) Or low odor isoparaffinic hydrocarbons.
Stir vigorously when adding the diluent to SilibaseWR-1290 Silane / Siloxane Formulations. As SilibaseWR-1290 Water Repellent Polymer reacts with humidity, the containers must be hermetically sealed.
The substrate must clean and not have damp spots. The required quantity depends on the absorbency of the substrate. The amount of impregnating agent required should be determined on site by testing a small area of the material to be treated.
Apply diluted solution to the substrate by brush or spray. Apply the next when the substrate has absorbed the previous ones (wet on wet). Generally, at least two applications suffice for all substrates.
Packing and Storage:
SilibaseWR-1290 Water Repellent Polymer is supplied in 25Kg and 180Kg drum.
In the unopened original container SilibaseWR-1290 Water Repellent Polymer has a shelf life of 2 year in a dry and cool place.
