Function:

SilibaseWR-0772 is a nonflammable, water-dilutable solution of Water Repellent(Sodium siliconate) developed to impart water repellency to a wide variety of natural stone and masonry surfaces. The siliconate reacts with carbon dioxide in the air to form an insoluble repellent surface and reduce water absorption within 24 hours. It is suitable for the surface of natural stone, like sandstone, limestone, and red brick, gray brick, granite, ceramics etc.; it is not suitable for polished or glazed surfaces.

Reduces water absorption into the substrate, thus reducing spalling due to freeze-thaw and efflorescence, thereby increasing the life of the substrate. 

Colorless and non-yellowing protection preserves the natural appearance of the substrate. Will not form a surface film or gloss. 

Treated surfaces retain natural vapor permeability. 

Suitable for interior and exterior surfaces. 

No solvent odor.

Application:

SilibaseWR-0772 Water Repellent is supplied concentration of 30 percent in water; SilibaseWR-0772 Water Repellent is usually diluted to a concentration of 3 percent or less before application. To prepare a 3 percent solution, mix one-liter SilibaseWR-0772 Water Repellent as supplied, with 11 liters of water. 

Application should be avoided on extremely windy days to avoid rapid evaporation of the water carrier. 

After application of the silicone solution, the treated surface should be allowed to dry at least 24 hours to develop maximum water repellency.

Application Methods:

Dilute solutions of SilibaseWR-0772 Water Repellent can be applied by dipping, spraying or brushing. 

Surfaces to receive water soluble silicone should be lightly dampened immediately prior to application.

When spraying SilibaseWR-0772 Water Repellent, great care should be taken to protect nearby vegetation or articles from overspray. The material is very caustic. It will damage or kill vegetation and will stain or etch glass, plastic, aluminum and most metals. If contamination does occur, wash immediately with water. Due to the high solvent resistance of the cured material, water repellent that has dried on glass must be scraped, and other surfaces may require sandblasting. If a white precipitate of Na2CO3 should form due to the use of too concentrated a solution of water repellent, rundown, overlapping, or second coating, sand blasting or wire brushing may be necessary to remove it if water does not.

Packing and Storage:

SilibaseWR-0772 Water Repellent is packaged in net weight 230kg steel drum or net weight 1100Kg IBC tote.

In the unopened original container SilibaseWR-0772 Water Repellent has a shelf life of 24 months in a dry and cool place.
