Recent research on defoamers has mainly focused on the combination of organosilicon compounds and surfactants, the combination of polyethers and silicones, the combination of water-soluble or oil-soluble polyethers and silicon-containing polyethers, etc. In terms of agents, compounding is one of the development trends of defoamers. As far as current defoamers are concerned, polyether and silicone defoamers have the best performance. The modification of these two types of defoamers and the development and research of new varieties are also active.

In order to eliminate the inevitable maladies of traditional defoamers, molecular defoamers have emerged. This type of defoamers are composed of special mineral oil and special molecular defoaming substances. The branch structure has multiple anchor points and has a certain degree of self-emulsification. There is no need to add an emulsifier, and there will be no shrinkage caused by the emulsifier detachment.
